Kauri show Kaitaikitanga!

This weeks Maori Concept is Kaitaikitanga. This concept is about guardianship, protection and preservation. It is about being guardians for those who come after us.

In Kauri during class meeting a week ago the students had discussed the amount of litter in the school grounds. They were keen to do a similar project as they had done in 2012 with the rubbish.

So after lunch on Monday and with our Maori Concept in mind we all headed out to count and collect all the rubbish we could. We spent half an hour counting and collecting. Here is the photo evidence of our exploits.
